Yes, I know. I have been trying to figure out the comments issue for some time now. As an intermediate solution I added the forum and any and all forum posts on any subject are welcome. My self-made blog is set up to allow other users, so maybe adding comments that way would be easy, with all registrations having to be approved by myself. Anyway, I will keep working on it (when I have time).

Ted: I completely see your point. I for one would even be willing to register an account at Northtemple if that allowed me to comment. I myself have about 5 comments a day that are completely inappropriate. With the volume of traffic I imagine Northtemple receives it would be quite a target for spambots. I guess you’d have to see if the clean up is worth the effort.

Of course one of the downsides to allowing comments is that you then have to moderate them. Otherwise, unscrupulous people (and bots) post objectionable, commercial, or otherwise unwanted comments. This can be a problem for anybody… but it’s especially a problem for sites with a relationship–even an unofficial one–with an organization whose image is important to maintain, and which may be sensitive to inappropriate material being posted under its banner. So knowing that unmoderated comments are a non-starter, you have to ask yourself if you have the time to moderate… and make your own decision!

Of course one way to make a comment is to link to the other site from your own blog (like you’ve done here). The other site owner/contributor sees the hit in their logs and investigates… and Voila! Your voice is heard!

All that said, I think we are exploring the addition of comments to NorthTemple, but I don’t know what the timeframe will be. It’s really Jason’s baby.
